The National Diabetes Prevention Program addresses the increasing burden of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes in the United States.One key feature of the National DPP is the CDC-recognized lifestyle change program, a research-based program focusing on healthy eating and physical activity which showed that people with prediabetes who take part in the structured lifestyle change program can cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% (71% for people over 60 years old)

Developed at Stanford University, this program helps participants with ongoing health conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety, heart disease, and others to find better ways of dealing with pain and fatigue, discover easy exercises to help improve or maintain strength and energy, learn the appropriate use of medications, and improve nutrition.

Walk With Ease is a multi-component program that also includes health education, stretching and strengthening exercises, and motivational strategies along with walking activities.

Matters of Balance Program

A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults.

Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention

This program is appropriate for people with mild, moderate and severe joint involvement and back pain. It is especially appropriate for adults who have a higher risk of falling.

Above + Beyond Cancer Urban Pole Walking

Pole walking is significantly more effective than regular walking. It burns up to 46% more calories, incorporates 90% of all body muscles in one exercise, and unloads weight and stress off hips, knees, and ankles all while improving stability, balance, and confidence while walking.
