Iowa Community HUB Featured in Osteoarthritis Action Alliance Case Study on Expanding Arthritis Education in Clinics
Iowa Community HUB partnered with the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) on a new case study that will be featured nationally, showcasing a simple, scalable way to increase arthritis education in clinical settings.
Working with Primary Health Care in Ames, Iowa Community HUB used the clinic’s waiting room TV screens as an additional touchpoint to reach patients. Short educational messages about arthritis and physical activity were displayed alongside a link to community-based programs, helping patients connect directly to local resources.
The project used ready-made materials from OAAA’s OACareTools.org, providing an efficient way to share high-quality, evidence-based information. This approach offers a practical model for extending patient education beyond the exam room while encouraging referrals to trusted community programs.
This case study serves as a clear example of how the Iowa Community HUB supports community efforts that meet local health needs and make a lasting difference.
